Stefano Cerio’s new book Brenva will be released on June 25 by Quodlibet, and will be published in conjunction with the opening of the artist’s exhibition Corpi d’aria, curated by Stefano Chiodi, opening on June 28 at Palazzo Collicola in Spoleto.
Curated by Stefano Chiodi and published during the International Year of Glacier Preservation, the volume offers a visual and artistic journey through the Brenva Glacier, located at the foot of Mont Blanc, which has been undergoing rapid and progressive retreat since 1990 due to climate change.
The book also includes three diptychs: 20×25 negatives burned by Cerio to evoke the heat that melts glaciers, placed alongside the resulting photographs. This artistic treatment conveys the wound of the mountain, aiming to raise awareness about the fundamental importance of glaciers in the global climate and hydrological system.
